호주에서 기초과학과 수학 관련 분야에서 학위를 딴 유학생은 영주권 신청 시 가산점 5점을 받게 될 예정이다.

숙련 이민 프로그램 점수 평가제가 수정됨에 따라 호주에서 기초과학과 수학 관련 분야에서 학위를 딴 유학생은 영주권 신청 시 가산점 5점을 받게 될 예정이다. STEM으로 불리는 과학, 기술, 공학, 수학 또는 지정된 정보 커뮤니케이션 기술 ICT 관련 분야에서 박사나 연구 석사 학위를 수료하는 학생은 점수 평가 시 가산점 5점을 받게 되며, 이에 따라 영주권 취득 가능성이 커지게 됐다.   

가산점 적용 대상으로 제안된 과정은 아래 21개 과정이다.
