From mathematical calculations on tiny scraps of paper to noting down phone numbers and reminders inside the palm of one's hands, numerous habits such as these exist in every nook and corner of India.
Even though smartphones and digitalisation have conquered considerable space in people's lives - one could say even taken over - such habits often remain until the one's very last breath.
This is the case of one woman in Kerala, in southern India, who has used her husband’s old passport to make a note of phone numbers, grocery lists, money transactions and what not!
Apart from her act of turning old passport into a diary, this became even more hilarious when she didn't even bother to spare a single page of it.
She never would have guessed that the digital platform has become so ubiquitous that her notes to herself would be made known to the world in a matter of seconds.
A video of this make-shift diary taken by her son went viral on social media.
Some saying ‘it happens only in India', others calling it ‘truly Indian’.
Many considering it a thread that links every Indian in their strange way of doing things.
However, there seem to be a few who finds a serious element in this.
They have taken this as an opportunity to share the information that passports, whether old or new are highly important to prove one’s identity.
