A tribute to Jayan... the first action hero of Malayalam film

Jayan, the one-time action hero of Malayalam film industry captured the minds of his audience till his death in 1980. He entered his career as an actor with minor roles in the movie Shapa Moksham in 1974. Later he gained the popularity with his unique style of acting as villain, antihero and romantic hero. Jayan liked to act the most risky roles without the help of dupes. This interest of him paved the way to his death, in a helicopter crash during the shoot of a 1980 movie Kolilakkam. Though Jayan died 33 years ago on November 16th, his dressing style, dialogues and actions still remain in the memories of even the younger generation.
