The incident took place in M Kunnathur, a village near Ulundurpet in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The media reports say Ajith Kumar, a 15-year-old boy was found begging on the streets of Tamil Nadu to collect money allegedly to bribe an official.

According to the reports, Ajith's father Kolangi, a 45 year old farmer died in February 2015 after succumbing to a major kidney ailment. After his death, the bereaved family had petitioned the officials for assistance of Rs 12,500 earmarked for kin of deceased under the farmer's social security scheme.

Now after a year and a half of Kolangi's death, his family was informed  by their relatives about the sanctioned fund. When Ajith, Kolangi's teenager son went to collect it, the village administrative officer allegedly demanded Rs 3000 to issue him with the cheque.

Ajith, in a desperate attempt to pay off his debts incurred following the funeral of his father, he started begging on the streets of M Kunnathur village. He along with his friends, created flex banners to announce the reason of his begging.

This has now gained media attention and the boy reportedly collected Rs 2,000 by the end of the day..

Ulundurpet Tahsildar Rajendiran said that to inquire into the allegations, he had deputed a Revenue Inspector to Kunnathur village.
