How effective are the COVID-19 vaccines?

A small group of Australians have now received their first doses of a coronavirus vaccine. By October, it's anticipated the entire adult population will be vaccinated. Most Australians will receive the AstraZeneca jab - but there are concerns about its effectiveness and how it will fare against dangerous new variants of the virus.
