L-Għanja tal-Poplu song festival celebrates 50 years of Maltese songs

L-Għanja tal-Poplu is a popular Maltese song competition first organized by Youth Travel Circle on 5 May 1973. From 1987 onward, the contest took a national dimension. In an interview for SBS Radio, Tony Micallef speaks with Rev. Maurice Mifsud, the founder of YTC about the origin and the organisation of this song festival as it celebrates 50 years since its inception.
