The majority of the Maltese who come to Australia left Malta and Gozo after World War II because of the poor economic and social conditions on the Maltese Islands, with over 66,000 leaving the country between 1946 and 1970. Maltese Australian historian and researcher Mark Caruana talks about the Maltese immigrants who came to Australia post-war years.
