The production of Xwejni Salt

Salt harvesting in Malta and Gozo is done during the summer months from June until the end of August. The salt is produced from natural elements such as the sun, wind and the evaporation of sea water. Xwejni Salt in Gozo, has been collected and packed manually following traditional methods for many years. Leli Cini explains to Joe Axiaq how the salt is produced.
