In the sidelines of the Indigenous Business Month, consulting firm PWC and Melbourne Business School launched the Boost Initiative to support Indigenous businesses.

In line with this initiative, one Indigenous business will receive skills and expertise to the value of $30 000 as part of the PwC & Melbourne Business Schools MURRA Boost Initiative.

Indigenous businesses have been encouraged to apply for the grant for specific projects.

According to Professor Ian Williamson, Associate Dean of International Relations at Melbourne Business School, the goal of this initiative is to provide Indigenous businesses with the type of assistance that will help them grow their business, develop their business models and perhaps do financial planning...

Professor Williamson adds that this grant can be a big boost for the successful applicant as the winning Indigenous business will receive skills and expertise from one of the best providers in Australia.

While the grant is related to a specific project; the Melbourne School of Business is also encouraging Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs to apply for the schools Murra program.

Melbourne Business Schools MURRA Indigenous Business Masterclass Program, is designed to help, strengthen and build capacity within Indigenous business organisations.

Skills and expertise provided through the initiative will go towards supporting a specific issue identified by the indivisual business that will allow for future growth.

The Master-class lasts between 4 and 4 and half months. The nationwide program has been going on for the last five years.

Applications are still open for the next Master class which will start in March 2017.
