Federal Government urged to do more to support First Nations family violence prevention services

Wynetta Dewis (Chair of the National Forum) acknowledges that the Budget confirms the current funding levels for FVPLS front-line service delivery for an additional two years, but says this fails to meet the funding increases required by 16 FVPLS units operating across the country.

The National FVPLS Forum has expressed concern over the chronic underfunding of First Nations Family Violence Prevention Legal Services (FVPLS) across Australia, which has been continued in the 2023-24 Federal Budget.
