- This time is hard for many Indigenous artists: one may feel lonely, isolated or overwhelmed
- If a specialist is required, your GP is a great place to start
- Don't hesitate to reach for help
Ms Trisnasari Fraser is a psychologist with an interest in the wellbeing and fulfilment of artists, performers, creatives and all those who follow their passions.
In an interview with NITV Radio, Ms Trisnasari Fraser explored some of the challenges that artists, especially Indigenous artists, may be navigating amid the crisis.
She explains that because of the disruption of daily routines, carrying out day-to-day activities can become very demotivating. One may feel isolated, lonely or overwhelmed about what is happening around them.
Ms Fraser recommends that when faced with challenges one shouldn’t hesitate to reach for help.
“Never hesitate to reach for help,”
According to Ms Fraser opening to friends, family or colleagues may be enough, but other times specialist intervention may be required. She says a visit to your GP is a great place to start your journey for greater attention.
