2025 was a wild ride, says photographer and lecturer at Monash University Jakharli Felicitas Romanis. The proud Pitta Pitta woman has completed a PhD degree, landed her dream job teaching at a university, spoke at symposiums and conferences and to top it up received a NATSIAA award in the Multimedia Category.
In an interview for NITV Radio Jahkarli also spoke about her creative practice and her experience researching archives. The artist spoke about how she then worked with portraits of her ancestors – explaining how the narrative about Indigenous People was reflected in the photography in the past decades.
