"Everything that the current government is doing is contrary to the Closing The Gap targets"
Northern Territory Justice Policy Partnership (NTJPP) released A joint letter with independent justice experts and representatives of Aboriginal community-controlled organisations (ACCOs) in a call for genuine collaboration.
The letter calls for genuine collaboration for the NT government to address including renewing its commitment to shared decision-making and accountability and notifies the suspension of the partnership for the period of six-months.
Matthew Connop is the Deputy CEO at North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) and Co-Chair of NTJPP, sharing his insight of the joint letter.

Mr Connop expands on some recommendations including early intervention, therapeutic programs and evidence based-solutions saying, "we want government to come to the table, despite the suspension, and genuinely speak with the partnership".
