“We want to tackle issues that are important for young people; social justice issues, mental health issues and other youth-related issues in a positive way.” - Aunty Annabelle Sharman, Associate Writer, Director and Cultural Liaison for Stories Beneath the Vale.

The first episode of Stories beneath the Vale will premiere online on Saturday December 12 at 3pm.

The series tells the story of Annett, a young Aboriginal dancer and choreographer, played by Emily Egan, finding power within her art and her relationships and speaking up when it matters.

The Vale (as it is affectionately called by participants) stems from a community-led film project presented by Phunktional Arts working with diverse communities of the rural Victorian township of Robinvale.
