The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention Evaluation Project is a project evaluating the effectiveness of existing suicide prevention services and programs with aims to reduce the cause, the amount and the impact of suicide on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, their families and communities.
Gerry Georgartus was part of the project and is now calling for a Royal Commission into the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suicide crisis.
He spoke with Khi-Lee Thorpe about the project and also about some of the reform projects that are working for our people.
If you believe that you, or anyone you know, might be at risk of suicide, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467.
