Supply Nation CEO Kate Russell joined NITV Radio from Connect 2026 in Boorloo to reflect on the growth and impact of Australia’s Indigenous business sector.
Now in its 16th year, Supply Nation Connect brings together Indigenous business owners, government and corporate leaders for two days of conversations, networking and celebration.
This year’s event features more than 230 exhibitors, showcasing the diversity of Indigenous businesses across industries including technology, construction, resources, creative industries and environmental services.
CEO Kate Russell spoke about the significance of bringing Connect to Western Australia and the growing contribution of Indigenous businesses to the state’s economy.
She also discussed the growing role of Indigenous women in business, with WA Indigenous women owned businesses receiving $708 million in procurement spend during the same period.
With the event focused on strengthening connections between Indigenous businesses and government and corporate buyers, Kate reflected on the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous entrepreneurs and supporting the continued growth of the sector.
