Rebel With A Cause is a four-part documentary series celebrating four iconic and outstanding Queensland-based First Nations rebels - Senator Neville Bonner, poet Oodgeroo Noonuccal, magistrate Pat O’Shane and media icon Tiga Bayles – who put everything on the line for change.
- The story of Pat O’Shane - The first Aboriginal female teacher in Queensland. First Aboriginal magistrate, serving the Local Court in Sydney between 1986 until her retirement in 2013 aired on Sunday 1 October at 9pm on NITV and SBS.
- The story of Neville Bonner - First Aboriginal person to become a member of the Parliament of Australia airs on Sunday 8 October at 9pm on NITV and 9.20pm on SBS.
- The story of Oodgeroo Noonuccal (Kath Walker) - The first Aboriginal person to be published airs on Sunday 15 October at 9pm on NITV and 9.20pm on SBS.
- The story of Tiga Bayles - A media personality who established Radio Redfern, an Indigenous radio program on Sydney community station Radio Skid Row; helped establish the Brisbane Indigenous Media Association (BIMA) which operated the radio station 98.9 FM (Brisbane) airs on Sunday 22 October at 9pm on NITV and 9.20pm on SBS.
Each episode is an intimate story of an everyday character whose unstoppable fire in the belly compels them to undertake an incomparable journey into places of established power to influence change.
