The benefits of bilingualism are many, says Mila Vulchanova


More than 300 different languages are spoken in australia according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The most common languages spoken in Australian households apart from English is Mandarin, Italian, Arabic, Cantonese and Greek.

Many children also learn two languages from birth.

SBS Norwegian's reporter Hilde Grande Nielsen talked to Prof. Mila Vulchanova, Leder for språktilegnelses- og språkprosesseringslaben, NTNU in Trondheim and asked her what advantages bilingual children have
