Advocates expressed their concerns on the support cuts to the asylum seekers

The government of Australia has cut support to some more than 12,000 asylum seekers who are on bridging visa and waiting for their cases to be processed.


The support was called (SRSS) which was giving asylum seekers Newstart allowance and also rent assistance. It is still not clear how many people will be affected by the changes some agencies are reporting that it could affect up to 10,000 according to The Guardian. We spoke to Dr. Nazir Dawaar rights activist and Principal Solicitor/ Migration Agent on the legal side of the change. Please listen to the full interview here.
