The Afghan entrepreneur Nafisa Homayun celebrated the award-winning moment after her make-up demo won the first price in a community event here in Sydney.

Nafisa has lived for many years as a refugee and finally has settled permanently in Sydney Australia. Nafisa is the first Afghan woman who operates a women-only beauty salon in Sydney. She has nine employees and is planning to expand her business. Tamana Abdul Hakim is working with Nafisa, and she says that she has the full support of her family to work in beauty salon field. Despite Afghanistan's traditions and cultural sensitivities, Tamanas family has been supportive of Tamana, and she is happy with what she is doing. We have invited the two artists to our studios, and you can listen to their stories here.
