Afghan refugees face many challenges in Karachi

Today more than 1.3 million Afghan refugees are living in Pakistan.


The recent tensions between the two counties have put Afghan refugees in a different place while many complain about their treatment in Pakistan. Afghan refugees living in the city of Karachi say the support by the Pakistani government and other agencies are near to nothing and they face many challenges, especially in the education sector. While most Afghan student study in schools where the two national languages Pashto and Dari is not thought, the refugees say this might put their children in a difficult position when they return to Afghanistan.
