Today Teachers International Day will be celebrated across Afghanistan.

This day is celebrated across the world with paying respects to the teachers. Afghan teachers complain about the government's commitment which hasnt helped them come out of their economic struggles. In Afghanistan, the teachers are among those government employees who are getting a low wage, and they dont have access to the needed facilities. Currently, 170,000 teachers are teaching in 12,000 schools, and there are 33% female teachers. Afghanistans ministry of education says that they have handed over some 85,000 pieces of lands to the teachers and more will be helped in the future. Or reporter Najia Safi has more.
