On Sunday 8 April, thousands of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement supporters have gathered in a historic gathering in the city of Peshawar Pakistan.

The speakers in the gathering were demanding basic rights for Pashtuns and also release of missing persons.

It is reported that Pashtuns from a different part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Tribal areas have participated and they were chanting Da Sanga Azadi da What kind of freedom is this. Families were holding their missing pictures of their loved ones. It is also reported the main TV channels did not give any coverage of the rally, but despite their blackout, some international TV channels and media outlets were giving live coverage.

Manzoor Pashteen addressing the audience said we are only the agents of Pashtun addressing the allegation that the movement is being backed by foreigners.
