Religious groups forced to cancel women cycling race

In Peshawar Pakistan, for the first time, a group of NGOs organized women cycling event which was meant to happen on January 19. The organizers say that they have prepared all the necessary arrangements to hold the race, but they have faced a backlash from religious groups. In a press conference, the organizers claimed that the release groups opposed the race and stated that it is against the Pashtun culture and Islamic values. Islam Gul Afridi has the full report.
