"The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, and Australia. The total financial cost of the bridge was AU£ 6.25 million, which was not paid off in full until 1988. The bridge was formally opened on Saturday, 19 March 1932."
