Transgenders in Pakistan are considered as a backward and 2nd class citizens, and they live with many problems.


They say they are not respected in the society and they are beaten up or killed by powerful men.Recently, the rise of violence against transgender have sparked widespread protests calling to end violence against transgenders. There have been much progress since then, and after they have issues Pakistani National Identity Cards, for the first time, they have been issued a driving license. According to transgenders, this is a major step in getting basic human rights.Islam Gul Afridi spoke to some of the transgenders and officials; please listen to the full report here.
