Afghanistan’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation says that thousands of Afghan refugees have returned to Afghanistan.
Most of the returnees are economic migrants who were working in Iran.
The financial crisis and the US and Iran tensions could be seen as a major reason for their return.
Iran is hosting 2.3 million Afghan migrants and refugees.
