Why is it important to keep cultural heritage?

Afghan authorities say there isn't enough support for protecting Afghan cultural heritage. If this continues there is a risk that important pieces of history will be lost. Afghan authorities say there are around 5000 cultural heritage sites of which only 1400 are registered. For the first time a gathering was held in Kabul to talk about the protection of Afghanistan's cultural heritage sites. Abdul Rauf Zazai has more.
