For Turnbull, it's 29 Newspolls and not counting

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's leadership status has been threatened by the latest Newspoll, which shows the Coalition suffering its 29th consecutive defeat in the poll against Labor. That is one short of the number cited by Mr Turnbull as one of his reasons for toppling predecessor Tony Abbott in 2015. The latest results come as shock to the Coalition, which had hoped Labor's controversial tax policy affecting pensioners would lead to an electoral backlash.
