Nora Niasary

Nora Niasari is an Iranian-Australian filmmaker based in Melbourne. Since graduating from a degree in Architecture in 2010, Nora completed short documentaries including, Beirut, Under the Bridge (2011) which was awarded Best Director Documentary and Special Jury Prize Documentary at the 11th Beirut International Film Festival. Noras films explore the intersection of documentary and fiction storytelling. She is currently completing the Masters in Film and Television (Narrative) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). Exile, identity and memory are the main themes of her work. In an interview with SBS Persian program, Nora speaks about her short film "17 years and a day" as we as her upcoming short film "Phoenix".
