Government warned weakening 18C could cost votes

Ethnic and religious groups are warning the federal government that weakening section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act could see it lose multicultural community support. A parliamentary inquiry into freedom of speech in Australia has received 135 submissions, many opposing any change.
