Iranian Artist's Simourgh installation in Blacktown City

Simorgh Installation

Simourgh Installation Source: SBS Persian

Sydney based Iranian artist Majid Rabet designed an installation based on the ancient Persian story of Simourgh, a mythical bird who has powers of healing and who dwells in a faraway mountain. This story of transformation symbolises the opportunities presented by Blacktown to many migrants and refugees who undertake the journey to this country. The suspension of thirty laser cut metal birds are illuminated by solar lighting and surrounded by the soft sounds of bird songs.
