Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has rejected calls from his own Coalition to consider resigning if the Government's standing in the polls fails to improve by Christmas.

Malcolm Turnbull used the milestone -- or millstone -- of 30 straight Newspoll losses to build his case for overthrowing former prime minister Tony Abbott back in 2015.

Now he has matched Mr Abbott's 30 losses, Mr Turnbull is facing increasing pressure from not only Mr Abbott but his own former deputy prime minister, Barnaby Joyce.
