Salt Creek attacker found guilty - but not of attempted murder

A man has been found guilty of several charges over an attack on two female backpackers on a remote South Australian beach.


The 60-year-old was on trial for sexually assaulting a Brazilian woman and hitting a German woman with a hammer at Salt Creek, east of Adelaide, in February 2016.

O júri da Corte Suprema da Austrália do Sul deu o seu veredito ontem, sábado, considerando-o culpado de assalto indecente, sequestro e de ameaça à vida.

Ele não foi, no entanto, considerado culpado de tentativa de assassinato.
O júri ficou deliberando por 12 horas até chegar ao veredito e, neste período, pediu esclarecimentos à juíza Trish Kelly sobre a intenção de matar em relação à acusação de tentativa de matar.
