Punjabi Iconic singer Gurdas Mann had released a teaser in late January this year for his upcoming album “Punjab”. In the teaser he could be seen in his new avatar, gazing at a pocket watch, saying in punjabi, “ It’s time to being him back”. However, it was not clear as to who he was talking about. After his comment, he could be seen elevating into the air.

On 9th February, Gurdas Mann finally released the song. This song from his new album “Punjab” has already clocked up more than 400,000 views on Youtube. In this song, he can be seen in a new avatar, elevating in the air and taking the audience through various eras of Punjab – from the struggle for independence to the present struggle of drugs in Punjab. We can also see a young Punjabi boy accompanying him who is portrayed as Bhagat Singh’s younger version.

There has been a lot of talk about his latest album in the media. It is perhaps the first time that the singer took to unusual and interesting strategies to promote his new album. He was, for the first time, engaging with his fans. He had also asked them to find him a ‘box’ before releasing the teaser for his album.

The album has received a great response on social media so far. Music for the album has been given by Jatinder Shah and the lyrics have been written by Gurdas Mann himself.
