ਬ੍ਰਿਸਬੇਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਛੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਵੀ ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਕਾਤਿਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ $250,000 ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਅਬਦੁਲ ਬਸਿਥ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ 25 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਿਸਬੇਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਈ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ। ਕੁਝ ਚਿਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮਿਲਿਆ
ਕਤਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਟੀਮ ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਪਰੰਤੂ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ।
"ਸਾਨੂ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ $250,000 ਦੇ ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ," ਡਿਟੈਕਟਿਵ ਐਕਟਿੰਗ ਸੁਪੇਰਿਨਟੇੰਡੇੰਟ ਕ੍ਰੇਗ ਮੇਰੋ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ।

Nearly six months after a Brisbane man was found stabbed to death outside his own home, Queensland Police have announced a reward of $250,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
35-year-old businessman Abdul Basith Mohammed died on October 25 last year when he stepped out of his Brisbane home to check a power outage while his family was asleep inside. Shortly afterwards he was found dead in his front yard with multiple significant wounds.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad of the State Crime Command hoped the addition of a reward would assist their investigation which had so far been unable to uncover any direct suspects.
“We are very hopeful that the announcement of a $250,000 reward will lead to someone contacting police and providing us with that crucial piece of information that will lead to a break-through,” Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Morrow said in a statement.
“Abdul’s family have naturally been devastated by his death and we are determined to find answers for them.”
Mr Basith operated an Indian and Middle Eastern restaurant and was about to start another one and had financial dealings with many people.
Police did not rule out that his death could be the result of a targeted attack.
Police have also offered to recommend an indemnity for anyone who may have been “an accomplice but isn’t the person who committed that offence” who assists them with information.
