A railway station in Melbourne's CBD has been evacuated after authorities received reports of a passenger with a gun.

A railway station in Melbourne's CBD has been evacuated after authorities received reports of a passenger with a gun.

Metro Trains says a train with the passenger on board was stopped at Flagstaff station and the area has been evacuated.

Police have asked people to avoid the station.
