The employment social networking service LinkedIn has released data on the top 25 companies Australian job hunters most want to work. The data was compiled from their users' behaviour.
The variables they measured were: the number of applications, views and ‘Apply’ clicks; engagement with the company and current employees and, finally, the length of time people stay with the company.
LinkedIn only looked at large companies with 500+ employees.
1. PwC Australia
The world's consulting and auditing giant is the most desirable workplace in Australia, according to LinkedIn data. The company has a very flexible approach to the working space. Wellness is a priority and staff are able to choose their preferred ambiance. PwC employees have access to mediation rooms or can hold meetings on treadmills.

2. KPMG
The close competitor of PwC in the consulting area and one of the Big Four, KPMG came second as the most attractive place to work. The company is aiming to promote more women into leadership roles and is committed to increasing the ratio of female managers by 2020.

3. Westpac Group
People want to work at Westpac more than any other bank. The oldest Australian company has 200 years of history and is luring applicants with its corporate culture, reference to Australian values and work-life balance.
New offices feature wellness zones, BBQ and outdoor working areas.

One of the largest Australian banks, Commonwealth maintains the second position of the most desirable bank where people, who look for a career in the finance industry, want to work. The bank took steps to increase diversity across its leadership team. They also spent $15 million to support finance education at the University of New South Wales.

5. Westfarmers retail
Since the company’s business stretches across many industries including supermarkets, office supplies and liquid petroleum, for many people their career at Westfarmers is only limited by their ambitions. The company actively supports Australian arts, donating millions of dollars to charity annually.

6. Qantas
There is always room in the heart of an Australian for the oldest airline company in the world. The company is showing signs of recovery after major losses. Employees enjoy lots of benefits such as access to Qantas sponsored sporting events and discounts on flights.
