The play The Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls opened the premiere season in Melbourne theatres. Directed by the Russian theatre director Elizabeth Millington, the play showcases modern Russia using typical characters from the fairytales - Baba Yaga and Koschei. We discuss with Elizabeth the unknown idea of feminism to the soviet women, the pain points of pronouncing Russian words correctly and the rising interest to Russian topics amongst Australian audience.
