Djokovic cruises past Young to reach second round

Six time Australian champion is back to action in Melbourne with a convincing win against Donald Young - 6:1, 6:2, 6:4. In the next match Serbian star will face Frenchman Gael Monfils, who beat Spaniard Jaume Munar

It was a cruisy ride for Novak Djokovic. In the first match after six months out of action due to an elbow injury, Serbian tennis star easily beat American Donald Young (6:1, 6:2, 6:4) to reach the second round of the Australian Open. 

Djokovic returned in style to the grand slam where he won record six trophies. He demonstrated modified serve technique and variety of improved shots that contributed to more efficiency in his game.

"It feels so great to be back here, to be back on the tennis court. There is no better place for me to start playing after six months away than here in Australia. I love coming here, Djokovic said.

In the second round Djokovic will face world number 39 Gael Monfils from France, who beat Spaniard Jaume Munar in three sets - 6:3, 7:6, 6:4.

The other Serbian Viktor Troicki also qualified for the next phase. He came from behind to beat Australian Alex Bolt - 6:7, 4:6, 6:2, 6:3, 6:4. The 55th player on the ATP rankings will have more difficult task in the second round where he plays against another Australikan, 17th seeded Nick Kyrgios who blasted past Brazlian Dutre Silva to secure place in the second round.
