The head of Victoria's parole board says counter-terrorism police raised no concerns about Melbourne siege gunman Yacqub Khayre before his release.The Federal Government is still struggling to understand how he was granted parole despite having terrorism links. Riot squad police officers in New South Wales will reportedly be armed with military-style machine guns as part of an increase in security against terrorism. This week has marked inaugural EU-Australian Leadership Forum in Sydney, which has provided a solid platform for the FTA negotiations.
