The Serbian Choral Society "Jedinstvo" (freely translated as "Unity"), from Banja Luka was founded in 1893 and continued working, with an interruption during the First World War, until 1941 when it was completely banned. In 1992, with the initiative of Very Reverend Father Ratko Radujković and Mr. Nemanja Savic, "Jedinstvo" was restored. The SCS "Jedinstvo" works under the patronage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Banja Luka. The choir has been granted with the Order of St. Sava, the Order of Njegos and the Order of Saint Andrew. They have held concerts in the Republic of Srpska, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Italy and China. They have obtained numerous awards in Nis at the Yugoslavian Choir Festival, in Banja Luka at the Vidovdan Festival, in Italy at the festival "Riva del Garda", a gold medal at the International Choir Competition "Orlando di Lasso", 3 silver medals at the Third Choir Olympics in Bremen, Germany, 1st place at the International Choir Competition "Golden Fairy" in Prijedor, 1st place and a gold medal at the International Choir Competition in Spiritual Music in Preveza, Greece, a gold medal in the category of spiritual music and silver medals in the category of chamber choirs at the Fourth Choir Olympics in Xiamen, China, the 1st prize and gold medal at the International Choir Competition" Musica Sacra" in Bratislava, Slovakia, 2 silver medals at the Fifth Choir Olympics in Graz, Austria, the gold certificate at the International Choir Competition in Malta, and many more.Nemanja Savic graduated at the Music Academy in Belgrade where he later obtained his master's degree in conducting. He is currently a professor and the director at the "Vlado Milosevic" School of Music, a professor at the Academy of Arts, the conductor of the mixed Serbian Choral Society "Jedinstvo" and conductor of the mixed Choir of the University of Banja Luka. He has received many awards and won over thirty first prizes at choral competitions in his homeland and abroad.
