The Women in Black Remembering Srebrenica rally, being held this Monday, July 10, is one of two rallies organized in Belgrade City's center.
Non-government organization Women in Black, in cooperation with the Dah Theater, the Women in Black's Network and Women Against Violence, collectively organized a peace performance "8372" at the Republic Square in Belgrade, remembering Srebrenica genocide victims, reports Voice of America.
The action had good media coverage and took place under strong police protection with only few incidents occurring as on the opposite side members of the "Association of killed and missing Serbs in Srebrenica i Bratunac Families" rallied to remember Serbian victims of the war.
The remains of 71 Srebrenica genocide victims were moved aboard a truck laden with flowers from the Bosnian city of Visoko on Sunday morning for their final journey to a cemetery in eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina, reports Bosnian Avaz.
The victims will be buried in the village of Potocari, just northwest of the city of Srebrenica, on July 11 to mark the 22nd anniversary of the genocide, report Bosnian media.
Serbian Government representatives will not take a part in the commemoration this year.
