Negotiations are continuing today (Jan 23) between New South Wales rail workers and Sydney Trains officials.
A 24-hour strike, involving nine thousand rail workers, is set for next Monday (Jan 29) if agreement can't be reached between Sydney Trains and the Rail, Tram, and Bus Union.
The union is asking for a six per cent pay increase and improved conditions. But the New South Wales government has upped its offer to a three per cent increase.
