As aid groups brace for a dengue fever outbreak among flood survivors in Sri Lanka, Australia will chip in $500,000 for emergency assistance.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Australia's assistance will go towards inflatable rescue boats, delivery of clean water and health services.
