The ACT Chief Minister wants first home buyers to be exempt from paying stamp duty.

Andrew Barr believes first homebuyer grants should be scrapped to pay for a stamp duty exemption for all first homebuyers across Australia.

Mr Barr has told the ABC the first homebuyer grants drive up house prices.
