Barnaby Joyce is adamant he will survive as deputy prime minister, rejecting a sexual harassment complaint filed against him as "spurious and defamatory".
The Nationals party has confirmed that a formal sexual harassment complaint had been made to the party.
The party's federal director, Ben Hindmarsh, said all complaints are taken seriously, treated with strict confidentiality and given due process.
It comes as Victorian MP Andrew Broad became the first Nationals federal MP to call for his leader to quit, vowing to bring the matter to a head at a party room meeting on Monday (19/02)
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has sidestepped questions about his embattled deputy prime minister.
Speaking outside the White House, Mr Turnbull says any questions on Barnaby Joyce's leadership must be answered by the National Party.
