AUS government has renewed travel ban on the city of Mosul without a legitimate reason.

Australian federal government has renewed a ban on Australians traveling to the troubled Iraqi city of Mosul without a legitimate reason.

Mosul was liberated from I-S in July last year, but I-S militants continue to engage in sporadic hostile activities in the area.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says Mosul is still a declared area, meaning Australians without a legitimate reason to be there could face ten years in jail.
