Australia wants to become a major arms exporter with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull unveiling a new plan that will target markets across the globe, including the Middle East and the United States.
Media reports are suggesting the Turnbull government wants to increase defence industry exports by a billion dollars to 2-point-5 billion dollars, as it pushes Australia to become one of the world's top 10 weapons exporters within the next decade.
Other priority markets for Australian arms include Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and the Indo-Pacific.
Australia is currently ranked 20th in defence industry exports with a market value of more than 2-billion dollars.
Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne says there's potential to create thousands more jobs if this is boosted.
