Popular football broadcaster Les Murray is to be honoured at a state funeral in Sydney's St Mary's Cathedral today(14/08) at 10.50am AEST.
The Australian and New South Wales flags will be flown at half-mast across New South Wales as Murray, who died on July 31 aged 79, is farewelled.
The broadcaster of 35 years had fought a long battle with illness.
Murray, who emigrated from Hungary as a child, switched his advocacy to refugees and multiculturalism in his later years.
Guests at the state funeral have been encouraged to wear white in honour of "a multicultural world".
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull last week credited Murray with turning the hearts of Australians to football.
